Your authentic visual brand expression is important to me, which is why I ask all clients to provide the following preliminary information in preparation for a successful on-brand visual expression.
- Clearly describe yourself/business and how you are distinct—Who you are, what you offer, to whom, and in what ways do you offer it. What are those things that make you distinct?
- Have a clear vision for the purpose of your business (and a clear vision for the purpose of the design project for which you are looking).
- Have ideas about the types of logos, websites, and graphics that resonate with you or you feel best represent your business.
- Know who your ideal clients are and be able to describe them. How do you want them to feel when looking at your logo or other brand materials?
- Describe your core values—those values that you stand for as a leader in your field and that stand for the personality of your business.
- How you want others to view you and your business. For example, do you want them to feel calm, energetic, confident, etc. as they look at your brand communications?
- What types of messages that you want to convey to your audience.
- What your distinct strengths are that you may want to highlight throughout your visual brand expression.
